NetSuite MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

NetSuite is Oracle's cloud ERP; it holds the general ledger, invoices, receivables, inventory and subsidiaries for finance teams.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

NetSuite AI analytics: what you can ask

Typical questions from finance and accounting. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • What is accounts receivable aging by subsidiary as of today?
  • Which customers have invoices more than 60 days past due?
  • Compare revenue by subsidiary this quarter versus last quarter.
  • What are the top 10 vendors by bill amount year to date?
  • Which inventory items are below their reorder point, by location?
  • Show operating expenses by department for the last six months.

Worked example: a governed NetSuite answer

One question, and everything the answer shows so you can check it. The figures are invented sample data.

What is accounts receivable aging by subsidiary as of today?

Approved definition: AR aging

Unpaid amount on open customer invoices in each subsidiary's base currency, bucketed by days past the due date.

Source

  • transaction (type CustInvc)
  • transactionline (subsidiary, main line)

Query (SuiteQL)

SELECT BUILTIN.DF(tl.subsidiary) AS subsidiary,
  SUM(CASE WHEN t.duedate >= CURRENT_DATE
      THEN t.foreignamountunpaid * t.exchangerate ELSE 0 END) AS not_due,
  SUM(CASE WHEN CURRENT_DATE - t.duedate BETWEEN 1 AND 60
      THEN t.foreignamountunpaid * t.exchangerate ELSE 0 END) AS days_1_60,
  SUM(CASE WHEN CURRENT_DATE - t.duedate > 60
      THEN t.foreignamountunpaid * t.exchangerate ELSE 0 END) AS over_60
FROM transaction t
JOIN transactionline tl ON tl.transaction = t.id AND tl.mainline = 'T'
WHERE t.type = 'CustInvc' AND t.foreignamountunpaid > 0
GROUP BY BUILTIN.DF(tl.subsidiary)

Result

Sample data: receivables aging by subsidiary, invented figures

Common pitfalls when asking NetSuite questions

Each one is settled once in an approved definition, so every person and every assistant gets the same answer.

  • Base and consolidated currency

Each subsidiary books in its own base currency, and a consolidated total needs consolidated exchange rates. The definition says which view a number is in.

  • Posting period versus transaction date

A transaction can post to a different period than its date suggests, especially around close. Finance questions usually mean posting period; the definition makes that explicit.

  • Main line versus line rows

Transaction amounts repeat across line rows. Summing without the main-line filter, or the right line type, double counts.

How Nexatron connects to NetSuite

Whose permissions
Each person can connect their own NetSuite account, so answers return only the records that person can already see in NetSuite. An administrator can instead use one shared connection for the workspace.
Read and write
Read-only. Nexatron reads NetSuite data to answer questions and never writes to NetSuite.
Setup
Sign-in happens on the vendor's own OAuth consent screen; Nexatron never sees a password. Steps: choose the source → check prerequisites → enter connection details → approve access → verify → ask. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

NetSuite MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed NetSuite MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your NetSuite data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect NetSuite to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect NetSuite to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your NetSuite questions.

NetSuite connector FAQ

Can I ask NetSuite questions without writing queries?
Yes. The connector is available now. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect NetSuite permissions?
Yes. With a personal connection, answers return only the NetSuite records that person can already see.
Can Nexatron change data in NetSuite?
No. Nexatron only reads NetSuite data.
What do I need to connect NetSuite?
A user who can approve access on the vendor's own sign-in screen.
Is there a NetSuite MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once NetSuite is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by NetSuite, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.
Can I get NetSuite reporting answers without building a saved search?
Yes. Ask the question and Nexatron returns the figure with the definition and SuiteQL behind it. Saved searches and NetSuite dashboards keep working for recurring views.
How is Nexatron different from NetSuite's built-in AI?
NetSuite's AI features work inside NetSuite. Nexatron answers finance questions from Teams, Slack, the web app or a connected assistant, applies approved definitions such as how aging buckets work, and can combine NetSuite with your CRM or billing system when federation is on (the default for new workspaces).
Does Nexatron handle NetSuite OneWorld subsidiaries?
Yes. Subsidiary is a standard dimension in questions, and the definition states whether an amount is per subsidiary in its base currency or consolidated.

Try Nexatron on your own NetSuite data

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.
