SAP Ariba use case
SAP Ariba spend analysis in your own words
Ask SAP Ariba spend questions in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot: addressable spend, contract coverage, invoice exceptions and supplier share, with the source shown.
Short answer
Ariba spend analysis with Nexatron means asking procurement questions in your own words, from the Nexatron app or from Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot: addressable spend by commodity, on-contract share, invoice exceptions and supplier shift. SAP Ariba is available: Nexatron connects through SAP Ariba’s reporting APIs with one shared application.
Example questions
- What was our addressable spend by commodity last quarter, and how much of it went through a contract?
- Which suppliers received purchase orders this year without an active contract workspace?
- How many invoices are in reconciliation exceptions right now, and which suppliers have the most?
- What is the average time from requisition submission to purchase order by business unit?
- Which preferred suppliers lost share in their commodity to non-preferred suppliers this year?
Agree these definitions first
- Addressable spend
- Which commodities, cost centers and spend types count, and whether spend is measured at the order or at the invoice.
- On contract
- An order line that references a contract workspace active on the order date.
- Commodity level
- The level of the commodity code hierarchy that procurement and finance report at.
- Period and currency
- The fiscal calendar, and the reporting currency for spend recorded in several currencies.
How it works
1. Connect SAP Ariba
An administrator connects SAP Ariba to your Nexatron workspace through the Operational Reporting API for Procurement and the Analytical Reporting API. Each call carries an application key and an OAuth 2.0 client-credentials token for one realm.
2. Set who can use the connection
Your administrator registers one application for your realm. Everyone enabled on the connection reads the same Ariba data, and access rules set in Nexatron decide who can use it.
3. Agree the definitions
Procurement and finance approve the definitions above once, so every person who asks gets the same addressable spend.
4. Ask where your team works
People ask in the Nexatron app or through Nexatron’s hosted MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Each answer shows the definition, source and query it used, and say it came from a shared SAP Ariba connection.
