HubSpot MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

HubSpot is a CRM and marketing platform; it holds contacts, companies, deals, pipelines, marketing emails and service tickets.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

HubSpot reporting questions you can ask

Typical questions from sales and marketing teams. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • What is the open deal pipeline by stage and owner?
  • How many new contacts did we create this month by lead source?
  • Which deals have been in the same stage for more than 30 days?
  • Compare closed-won revenue this quarter with last quarter.
  • Which marketing emails had the highest click rate in the last 60 days?
  • Show the top 10 companies by total closed deal value.

Worked example: a governed HubSpot answer

One question, and everything the answer shows so you can check it. The figures are invented sample data.

How much closed-won revenue did each deal pipeline produce in Q3?

Approved definition: Closed-won revenue

Deal amount in the company currency on deals marked closed won in any pipeline, with a close date in the quarter.

Source

  • Deals (amount_in_home_currency, pipeline, hs_is_closed_won, closedate)

Query (HubSpot CRM search request)

POST /crm/v3/objects/deals/search
filters:
  hs_is_closed_won EQ true
  closedate BETWEEN 2026-07-01 AND 2026-09-30
properties: amount_in_home_currency, pipeline
→ summed per pipeline

Result

Sample data: closed-won revenue by pipeline in Q3, invented figures
PipelineDealsClosed-won revenue
New business41$612,000
Renewals57$388,000
Partner12$145,000

Common pitfalls when asking HubSpot questions

Each one is settled once in an approved definition, so every person and every assistant gets the same answer.

  • Stages belong to a pipeline

Two pipelines can each have a stage called Closed won with different internal IDs. Using the closed-won flag counts both; filtering on one stage ID misses the other.

  • Deal currency

amount is in each deal's currency; amount_in_home_currency is converted. The definition picks one, so a multi-currency total is not a mix.

  • Lifecycle stage versus lead status

"New leads" can mean contacts that entered the Lead lifecycle stage or contacts with a New lead status. The definition says which, and the answer shows it.

How Nexatron connects to HubSpot

Whose permissions
Each person connects their own HubSpot account, so answers return only the records that person can already see in HubSpot.
Read and write
Read-only. Nexatron reads HubSpot data to answer questions and never writes to HubSpot.
Setup
Sign-in happens on the vendor's own OAuth consent screen; Nexatron never sees a password. Steps: choose the source → check prerequisites → enter connection details → approve access → verify → ask. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

HubSpot MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed HubSpot MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your HubSpot data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect HubSpot to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect HubSpot to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your HubSpot questions.
How the Nexatron MCP server works

HubSpot connector FAQ

Can I ask HubSpot questions without writing queries?
Yes. The connector is available now. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect HubSpot permissions?
Yes. With a personal connection, answers return only the HubSpot records that person can already see.
Can Nexatron change data in HubSpot?
No. Nexatron only reads HubSpot data.
What do I need to connect HubSpot?
A user who can approve access on the vendor's own sign-in screen.
Is there a HubSpot MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once HubSpot is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by HubSpot, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.
Can Nexatron answer HubSpot reporting questions no saved report covers?
Yes. Ask the question and Nexatron builds the query from your approved definitions, then shows the definition, source and query with the number. Saved HubSpot reports and dashboards keep working; Nexatron handles the questions between them.
How is Nexatron different from HubSpot's AI features?
HubSpot's AI features work inside HubSpot. Nexatron answers from Teams, Slack, the web app or a connected assistant, applies the same definitions across systems, and can put HubSpot figures next to billing or ERP data when those are connected and federation is on (the default for new workspaces).
Can HubSpot analytics combine marketing and sales data?
Yes, within HubSpot that is one connection: contacts, companies, deals and marketing emails. Answers that also need another system, such as invoiced revenue, use that system's connection and list both sources; joining the two in one answer needs federation, which is on by default for new workspaces.

Try Nexatron on your own HubSpot data

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.

HubSpot is a trademark of its owner. Nexatron is not affiliated with or endorsed by it; the name and mark identify the system Nexatron connects to.
