BILL MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

BILL (Bill.com) is a cloud accounts payable and receivable platform; it holds vendor bills, approvals, payments, customer invoices and vendor records.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

BILL AI analytics: what you can ask

Typical questions from finance and accounts payable. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • What is the total of unpaid vendor bills due in the next 30 days?
  • Which bills are waiting on approval for more than five days?
  • How much did we pay our top 10 vendors this year?
  • Show open customer invoices by aging bucket.
  • Compare total bills paid this month with last month, by vendor category.
  • Which vendors have duplicate invoice numbers in the last quarter?

How Nexatron connects to BILL

Whose permissions
An administrator connects one BILL service credential for the workspace; its scopes are the outer limit, and Nexatron roles decide who in your company can ask.
Read and write
Read-only. Nexatron reads BILL data to answer questions and never writes to BILL.
Setup
An administrator connects a service credential (API token or service-account key) issued by the vendor. Steps: choose the source → check prerequisites → enter connection details → verify → ask. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

BILL MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed BILL MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your BILL data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect BILL to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect BILL to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your BILL questions.

BILL connector FAQ

Can I ask BILL questions without writing queries?
Yes. The connector is available now. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect BILL permissions?
Yes, within the scopes of the BILL credential your administrator connects. Nexatron roles decide who can ask.
Can Nexatron change data in BILL?
No. Nexatron only reads BILL data.
What do I need to connect BILL?
A vendor-issued service credential and an administrator to connect it.
Is there a BILL MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once BILL is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by BILL, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.
