CloudWatch MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

Amazon CloudWatch is an AWS monitoring service that holds metrics, logs, alarms and dashboards for AWS resources and applications.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

CloudWatch dashboard questions you can ask

Typical questions from cloud and DevOps. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • Which EC2 instances had the highest average CPU last week?
  • How many alarms moved to ALARM state per day this month?
  • Show Lambda error counts by function over the last 7 days.
  • Compare RDS database connections across our instances.
  • List log groups with the highest ingestion volume this month.

How Nexatron connects to CloudWatch

Whose permissions
Your administrator approves the access the CloudWatch connection uses. Where CloudWatch supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access, and Nexatron roles decide who in your company can ask.
Read and write
Questions are read-only: asking never changes CloudWatch data.
Setup
Our team sets up the CloudWatch connection with your administrator during the pilot. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

CloudWatch MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed CloudWatch MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your CloudWatch data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect CloudWatch to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect CloudWatch to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your CloudWatch questions.

CloudWatch connector FAQ

Can I ask CloudWatch questions without writing queries?
Yes. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect CloudWatch permissions?
Yes. Where CloudWatch supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access.
Can Nexatron change data in CloudWatch?
No. Asking a question never changes CloudWatch data.
What do I need to connect CloudWatch?
An administrator who can approve the connection. Our team sets it up with them during the pilot.
Is there a CloudWatch MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once CloudWatch is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by CloudWatch, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.

Try Nexatron on your own CloudWatch data

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.
