Vertica MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

Vertica is a columnar analytical database designed for fast SQL queries on large datasets, used for reporting and analytics on business and event data.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

Vertica AI analytics: what you can ask

Typical questions from data and analytics teams. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • What was total revenue by product line for each of the last 6 months?
  • Which 10 customers segments generated the most orders this quarter?
  • Compare daily active users this month to last month
  • List days where transaction volume dropped below the 30-day average
  • Break down events by channel and region for last week

How Nexatron connects to Vertica

Whose permissions
Your administrator approves the access the Vertica connection uses. Where Vertica supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access, and Nexatron roles decide who in your company can ask.
Read and write
Questions are read-only: asking never changes Vertica data.
Setup
Our team sets up the Vertica connection with your administrator during the pilot. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

Vertica MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed Vertica MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your Vertica data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect Vertica to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect Vertica to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your Vertica questions.

Vertica connector FAQ

Can I ask Vertica questions without writing queries?
Yes. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect Vertica permissions?
Yes. Where Vertica supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access.
Can Nexatron change data in Vertica?
No. Asking a question never changes Vertica data.
What do I need to connect Vertica?
An administrator who can approve the connection. Our team sets it up with them during the pilot.
Is there a Vertica MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once Vertica is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by Vertica, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.

Try Nexatron on your own Vertica data

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.

Vertica is a trademark of its owner. Nexatron is not affiliated with or endorsed by it; the name and mark identify the system Nexatron connects to.
