Amazon Athena MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

Amazon Athena is an AWS serverless query service that runs SQL directly on data files stored in Amazon S3, commonly used for logs, events and data lake tables.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

Amazon Athena AI analytics: what you can ask

Typical questions from data and engineering teams. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • How many web requests did we log per day over the last 30 days?
  • Which 10 API endpoints returned the most 5xx errors this week?
  • Compare total events this month with last month by source
  • List days in the last quarter where order volume dropped below the weekly average
  • Break down billing line items by AWS service for last month

How Nexatron connects to Amazon Athena

Whose permissions
Your administrator approves the access the Amazon Athena connection uses. Where Amazon Athena supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access, and Nexatron roles decide who in your company can ask.
Read and write
Questions are read-only: asking never changes Amazon Athena data.
Setup
Our team sets up the Amazon Athena connection with your administrator during the pilot. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

Amazon Athena MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed Amazon Athena MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your Amazon Athena data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect Amazon Athena to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect Amazon Athena to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your Amazon Athena questions.
