Teradata MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

Teradata is an enterprise data warehouse platform used to store and analyze large volumes of historical business data for reporting across sales, finance and customer operations.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

Teradata AI analytics: what you can ask

Typical questions from data and finance teams. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • What was total revenue by region and quarter for the last 2 years?
  • Which 10 stores had the highest sales per square foot last month?
  • Compare this year's product margins with last year's
  • List product categories where sales fell more than 15% quarter over quarter
  • How has customer order frequency trended by month this year?

How Nexatron connects to Teradata

Whose permissions
Your administrator approves the access the Teradata connection uses. Where Teradata supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access, and Nexatron roles decide who in your company can ask.
Read and write
Questions are read-only: asking never changes Teradata data.
Setup
Our team sets up the Teradata connection with your administrator during the pilot. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

Teradata MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed Teradata MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your Teradata data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect Teradata to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect Teradata to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your Teradata questions.

Teradata connector FAQ

Can I ask Teradata questions without writing queries?
Yes. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect Teradata permissions?
Yes. Where Teradata supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access.
Can Nexatron change data in Teradata?
No. Asking a question never changes Teradata data.
What do I need to connect Teradata?
An administrator who can approve the connection. Our team sets it up with them during the pilot.
Is there a Teradata MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once Teradata is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by Teradata, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.

Try Nexatron on your own Teradata data

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.
