DataHub MCP server: ask questions, get governed answers

DataHub is an open-source metadata platform that records datasets, pipelines, dashboards, lineage, ownership and tags across an organization's data systems.

Try it on your own data in a pilot.

DataHub AI analytics: what you can ask

Typical questions from data engineering, governance, analytics. Each answer shows the definition, source and query behind it.

  • Which datasets have no owner assigned?
  • List dashboards that depend on deprecated datasets
  • How many datasets are tagged as containing sensitive data, by platform?
  • Which 10 datasets have the most downstream consumers?
  • Show datasets with no documentation by domain

How Nexatron connects to DataHub

Whose permissions
Your administrator approves the access the DataHub connection uses. Where DataHub supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access, and Nexatron roles decide who in your company can ask.
Read and write
Questions are read-only: asking never changes DataHub data.
Setup
Our team sets up the DataHub connection with your administrator during the pilot. No data migration and no pipeline to build: data is queried where it lives.

DataHub MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is a governed DataHub MCP connector: Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask questions of your DataHub data through it. Each person signs in as themselves, so the assistant sees only what they may see.

Connect DataHub to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

  1. Connect DataHub to your Nexatron workspace.
  2. In Claude, add Nexatron from Claude's connector directory. In ChatGPT or Copilot, add a custom MCP connector with the server URL https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in with your own Nexatron identity (OAuth 2.1), then ask your DataHub questions.

DataHub connector FAQ

Can I ask DataHub questions without writing queries?
Yes. Ask in Teams, Slack, the Nexatron web app, or an AI assistant connected through Nexatron's MCP server.
Does Nexatron respect DataHub permissions?
Yes. Where DataHub supports per-user sign-in, answers run under each person's own access.
Can Nexatron change data in DataHub?
No. Asking a question never changes DataHub data.
What do I need to connect DataHub?
An administrator who can approve the connection. Our team sets it up with them during the pilot.
Is there a DataHub MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes: Nexatron's hosted MCP server, once DataHub is connected to your workspace. It is Nexatron's server, not one published by DataHub, and the assistant gets the same governed answer as the Nexatron app.

Try Nexatron on your own DataHub data

A pilot starts with three questions your team already asks and the report you trust for each, so you can check the answers yourself.

DataHub is a trademark of its owner. Nexatron is not affiliated with or endorsed by it; the name and mark identify the system Nexatron connects to.
